  4. Proponent of actively engaging in policy matters and raising APPNA’s voice in matters concerning APPNA members and health matters. Examples:
    • Proposed idea of giving APPNA an institutional role in health policy matters to Prime Minister Imran Khan who graciously agreed (APPNA Winter Meeting 2019, Peshawar). Follow-up work in progress
    • Proposed the idea of an APPNA COVID-19 Task Force/Ad-hoc Committee. Subsequently adopted by the EC and performing with great success
    • Proponent of idea of Kashmir Humanitarian Relief Task Force. Proposed to show APPNA’s concern over COVID-19 situation in Indian Administered Kashmir.
    • Drafted APPNA’s stance over exorbitant COVID-1 vaccine prices in Pakistan. Wrote to the PM Pakistan.
    • Instrumental in lobbying Pakistan Medical & Dental Commission (PMDC) agreeing to recognizing US experience for teaching/faculty appointments in Pakistan.
    • Proposed APPNA lobby with the Pakistan Medical Commission to extend deadline for renewal of licenses for expatriate Pakistani doctors, ask for online payment and renewal application. Done with success.

  1. Organized a most successful APPNA Winter Meeting in Peshawar, December 2019
    a. Prime Minister Imran Khan graced the meeting with his presence. First occasion in more than two decades that a sitting PM accepted invitation and addressed an APPNA meeting in person.
    b. Meeting termed as ‘the best APPNA Winter Meeting ever’ by the President of APPNA.

  1. Most actively involved with philanthropic work of Ohio Chapter. Every year, medical supplies, and equipment worth hundreds of thousand of dollars sent to Pakistan.

  2. Sends cardiac equipment and supplies to Pakistan in collaboration with APCNA. So far, millions of dollars’ worth supplies sent
  3. Performs free procedures for indigent patients in Pakistan
  4. Actively involved with medical teaching in Pakistan. Honor of performing first intravascular ultrasound and first ever peripheral percutaneous vascular procedure in Pakhtunkhwa
  5. Organized teams of volunteers on the ground during the Swat Internally Displaced Persons’ (IDP) crisis. Raised hundreds of thousands of funds.
  6. Led efforts to build relief and rescue teams on the ground during the 2010 mega floods in Pakhtunkhwa. Helped raise money for relief activities.
